bend it like Beckett

I’ve adored Etoile Isabel Marant’s Becketts since I saw them earlier in the year on such fashionistas as Miranda Kerr. It was only until recently though, when I saw them on friend and head buyer for Blue & Cream, Sam Greenes, that I feel completely head over heels in love with them. After much research I came up empty handed with several hundred “sold outs”.

However, on Friday I discovered that Barney’s had them back in stock, in the color I wanted, and in my size! The sheer excitement of finding them though wasn’t enough to make me press purchase. I suddenly realized that though I admired them via pictures and on Sam, personally they would sit on my shoe shelf, gathering dust, and unworn.

Plus the extra liftwould make me  almost too tall! So alas I didn’t purchase the Becketts, and though I do have a bit of buyer’s remorse, I realize that’s the beautiful thing about fashion, sometimes it’s nice enough to look, but not to touch, xo.

a night out in snakeskin, leather, and denim

The third and final look from the shoot with Blue&Cream is a fun one with a wild combination of snakeskin, leather, and denim. The look works because the separates all fuse to form one hot outfit to wear out on the town, from a dinner downtown to out on the dance floor. I’m in love with this Joie dress with a cute flower print that bunched at the waist and fell fitted at the bottom.

The Rag & Bone denim jacket with leather sleeves is an on trend piece that I had to snatch up. It takes this look to a whole knew level, but it’s also a versatile piece that adds a bit of downtown chic to an otherwise sweet look and can be worn even into the fall. We didn’t over accessorize, but instead choose to draw the focus to one statement 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel in Pistachio. The colorful snakeskin like satchel adds some attitude to finish off the look. Snatch up all these pieces from these three looks at Blue&Cream for a summer of fashion successes, xo.

ladies that lunch

Look two from the shoot at Blue&Cream takes inspiration from the classic ladies that lunch idea, but of course with a colorful twist. As soon as I saw the yellow 3.1 Phillip Lim Sleeveless dress I knew we had to create the outfit around that piece. I didn’t want the rest of the look to overshadow the pop of color so for accessories we stuck to a simple, but classic Blue&Cream blazer in cream, Retrosuperfuture sunnies, and a fantastic 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel in white.

We opted for simple black Tkees, but to dress this look up add a black heel or sandal. This look’s a Hampton classic, it can be worn from the office to a lunch with friends. Look two is super versatile and while much different from casual shorts and blouse, it’s a combination of must have summer necessities. Tune in for tomorrow for the third and last look, think leather, xo.

star spangled banner look

I am so excited to reveal three special looks from last weekend’s photoshoot with New York and East Hampton boutique Blue&Cream. I had so much fun at the shoot with owner’s Sam and Jeff and couldn’t wait to show three favorite outfits that we pulled. From the outdoor summer concert look to the ladies that lunch (with a modern twist of course) look these outfits are all must haves for a fashionable summer on the East End and elsewhere!

This look is a revamp of the traditional red, white, and blue. The stars and stripes on the Equipment tie blouse add another dimension and contrast well with the cutoff red shorts from AG. Of course the accessories are what add additional attitude, I’m obsessed with the Retrosuperfuture sunnies and the cross black Jerome Dreyfuss pocketbook is the perfect seasonal alternative from the usual hobo! Head to toe, add a cute sandal or heeled boot, this outfit screams Central Park concerts, beach barbecues, and a spot on 4th look. Blue&Cream is a one stop shop for all the items I’m in and carries all the must have on trend items of the season. Tune in tomorrow for look two, xo.

Lamptons Hoody

Lampin’ in the Hamptons! I’ve mentioned it in previous posts, but the Lampton Hoody is an exclusive staple at New York and East Hampton store, Blue&Cream. The sweatshirt was created by the owner, Jeff, and his wife, Sam. In Sam’s words:

“Lamptons” was a word all of our friends used growing up in NYC. Instead of The Hamptons we all would just say “We’re going to The Lamptons, or The Lamps” meaning we were going to chill out, relax or “lamp” in The Hamptons. Jay Z even says “Lampin in The Hamptons” in the lyrics for his song “Jigga that Nigga”. We decided to put the phrase on a sweatshirt for fun about 5 years ago and it just took off.  It is our #1 best selling item. Many of our clients collect all the different colors and each season we come out with different colors and designs.

The Lamptons hoody has been spotted on numerous celebrities like television star and author Lauren Conrad and ex housewife and author Kelly Bensimon.

The unisex sweatshirt comes in a bunch of fun summer colors like yellow, purple, turquoise,  and peach. It’s the perfect comfy piece to throw in your suitcase for when it’s cooler out or it’s a chic, but comfortable look to travel in.

It looks super cute with cutoff shorts, or over a slim fitted denim. The Lamptons Hoody is a summer essential, so make sure to snatch one up on Memorial Day Weekend, xo!
